On February 5, 2023, the King and Queen of Thailand presided over the Inauguration of celebrating Phra Buddha Dhammakaya Thepmongkhon at Wat Paknam, Phasicharoen, Bangkok.

Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen is a unique royal temple that was established in 1610 during the Ayutthaya period. It is famous for its large seated bronze Buddha which is the largest in Bangkok. The temple is also a prosperous center of meditation and Buddhist education.

The giant bronze Buddha is in the meditation posture with a lap width of 40 meters and a height of 69 meters, equivalent to a 20-story building. Construction began on March 4, 2017, and was completed on June 19, 2021. The image is called Phra Buddha Dhammakaya Thepmongkhon and is dedicated to the Thai royal family and the temple’s former abbot Luang Pu Sodh. It is made entirely of pure bronze (the only one in the world). Sino Sculpture, as the contractor, is so proud of the opportunity to build such unique Buddha art for Thailand and the world.

With the faith of Buddhists to offer as an offering to the Buddha, Phra Buddha Dhammakaya Thepmongkhon is enshrined as the Buddha image of Wat Paknam Temple for the faithful people to visit and worship.
